Twilight with wolves.

Let's take a nice cast. A charismatic villain and a story with just a little more humor than the main example. The pace is high, the developments are quick and predictable, but unfortunately the film suffers a lot in the last twenty minutes. Unfortunately, a budget that is too low and a scenario that is not very creative will detract somewhat.

That doesn't change the fact that it looks nice and fortunately doesn't last too long.

Still above average for the excellent first hour.

Mwa.

Indeed a kind of Twilight, but with wolves in the leading role instead of vampires. And then this version comes out a lot rougher. So this can be called a horror instead of a kind of romantic fantasy.

Till does a pretty good job, but then doesn't really get the script going. His character is often painfully standard and the romance with Patterson (which there may be) often doesn't feel particularly good. A bit of a strange relationship.

Outside of that, I thought the layout of the wolves looked stupid. As if some kind of puppet show came to life. It just looks so stupid that you can never really take it seriously. The moderate effects associated with the transformations do not exactly help matters.

What makes the film stand out is the energetic direction and narration. Lots of fun tricks here and there that make it all a bit smoother. Mixed with the occasional reasonable gore and blood splashes, the film is not an unpleasant experience.

There could have been a little less drama and a little more humor. And if the wolves looked different, this would be a lot more enjoyable to sit through. Momoa was also clearly nicely cast, although his character doesn't get enough screen time.

Reasonable horror film, which unfortunately does not rise above mediocrity, but makes a reasonable attempt with some good action moments and a brisk pace.

After 18-year-old quarterback Cayden [Lucas Till] beats an opponent [Daniel Kelly] and is accused of sexual assault after a romantic get-together with Lisa [Kaitlyn Leeb], he realizes that he is no ordinary person. When he finds his parents dead and mutilated at home, he believes he even killed them during a blackout. Cayden goes on the run and along the way encounters Wild Joe [John Pyper-Ferguson], who brings him into contact with John Tollerman [Stephen McHattie] in Lupine Ridge, a town that hides a dark secret related to Cayden's past. Momoa plays the local bully who has a bone to pick with Cayden. The makeup is not bad, but Richards doesn't have enough charisma to make you forget and forgive the formulaic scenario.
