Centro Histórico plot
Four world cinema directors, Manoel de Oliveira, Aki Kaurismäki, Pedro Costa and Victor Erice, were invited by the Cidade de Guimarães Foundation to direct a film about the collective, historical, memory of Portugal. 'Tavern Man' by Kaurismäki is about a lonely waiter in the historic center of Guimarães. Pedro Costa directed 'Sweet Exorcist', about young captains commanding the revolution while Ventura gets lost in the woods. 'Broken Windows' by Victor Erice tells of one of the largest European textile factories and Manuel de Oliveira uses the idea of a 'Conquered Conqueror', or a 'conquered conqueror'...
