JJ 'Shep' Morrison looks like a tough gangster from the American Prohibition era, but in reality he wouldn't hurt a fly. He maintains his "killer" reputation by providing evidence of his involvement in crimes committed by other crooks. Morrison wants to polish his image when he falls in love with Judy Miller and adopts Detroit orphaned Harry. In his own way, Morrison then takes care of the evil gangster boss Pretty Willie Williams.
