Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos plot
The Japanese occupation of the Philippines between 1942 and 1944. Rosario is a young schoolteacher who is engaged to Crispin. Crispin leaves Rosario to fight the Japanese as a guerrilla. But in his absence, she is raped by a Japanese-Filipino officer named Masugi. Masugi later returns to Rosario to apologize for his act, with gifts such as canned food and rice, which Rosario first refuses. But the situation becomes even more complex when Rosario's father Mang Andoy is arrested by the Japanese and Rosario reveals to Masugi that she is pregnant.
