Santa has had enough of delivering presents down the chimney. After all, it always concerns families who, incited by commerce, make too high demands and cannot appreciate him. He decides to quit his position, but then he meets an eight-year-old girl who is on her way from New York to her father in California. They travel together through America and Santa Claus gains new insights.
