Mediocre.

Never seen Frits and Freddy, so I had no idea this is actually a sequel.

Well, the story stands on its own and is fun for about 15 minutes. I can have Peter Van den Begin and even Sven De Ridder is still nice.

After that it starts to drag a bit. Frits and Franky or at least their mutual relationship: it is simply not interesting enough. That Dutchman with his weird accent and such a Manou Kersting are sometimes nice, but even for only one and a half hours of playing time, it's all a bit too meager.

1,5

I do watch some Flemish or Belgian films, but in principle I leave such films aside in the first instance. So much so that until I came here I read that this was actually the sequel to Frits and Freddy. It doesn't seem to me that the two are very connected, so no problem in that area.

All a bit bland, of course. Gangsters that don't seem natural, absurd humor interspersed with silly humor. A plot with hooks and eyes together, but certainly a nice moment here and there. I thought the Daeseleire and Scheepers cops had something to do with it. Although the plot in such films is hardly anything, it was very poor here. Just a little too little chemistry between De Ridder and Van den Begin.

Brace yourself for a barrage of extremely dubious accents in a corny, but slow and rarely funny comedy in which brothers Frits [Peter van den Begin] and Franky Frateur [Sven de Ridder] help woman in need Birgit [Georgina Verbaan] after her car went into the water and accidentally came into possession of a bag of money. Of course it turns out to be dirty money for which Birgit has to answer to criminal boss Nico [Jack Wouterse]. Meanwhile, the naive figure out what to do with the money. The talented cast deserved a much better screenplay, but Van den Begin and De Ridder at least try to make something of it, however futile that attempt may be.
