“Whatever you're thinking, rethink it.”
Those small and idyllic places in America always have to do with a lot of crime. Especially if Statham is going to live there with his cute daughter. Statham comes there for his rest, but that is of course short-lived. We as viewers know how these kinds of films work.
Homefront has a calm build-up for a Statham film and there is surprisingly little action in it. It's nice sometimes, because when it eventually breaks loose, all hell breaks loose. Franco is solid and Bosworth and Ryder have wonderful roles as sloppy rednecks. Eventually a whole army comes pouring into the small town, but Statham knows how to deal with that too. Anything to protect his daughter. Because our iron eater obviously has his heart in the right place.

Yes! That's how we like to see them, no fuss,
But a real good old fashioned action flick , featuring the real action hero of the last two decades .
Statham is completely in place here, but for the most part is cool. Withheld .
But you can feel the action brewing , just like the climate in the southern US .
The screenplay is by S. Stallone , and production too ,
Well , leave that to sly .
The funny thing is, it can't be that hard to make a real action movie without over the top CGI.
Because this clearly stands out in that sub genre . And unfortunately you don't see that often anymore.
Nice.

A typical Jason Statham action movie with a script by Sylvester Stallone. We get a standard storyline with a good guy and some bad guys, the necessary humor and action scenes. It never gets really special, but as with Statham in these kinds of films and some well-known names (Winona Ryder, James Franco and Kate Bosworth) it is a film that does what you can expect from it. Good band work is not a bad movie.
