Hilariously bad. The link with Phone Booth is understandable, although that film managed to come out a lot hipper and smoother. Grand Piano fails resolutely in this, so that the attention falls almost entirely on the ludicrous plot. Most of the nonsense has already been mentioned here so I'll save myself the trouble, but I've rarely seen a film that makes such a mess of it. I also found the concert to be a less exciting setting and the music is not my thing, so there was not much to pick up in that area either.

Bottom shelf junk that should be erased from my memory as soon as possible. With the intro you've pretty much had it. For that 1*.

What a bunch of nonsense.

First of all to imitate the great Hitchcock, which by the way completely failed. But it is impossible to comprehend the amount of improbabilities in just under an hour and a half.

Just typing a text message right through the sheet music while playing a difficult passage. By the way, concert pianists rarely if ever use sheet music while playing a piano concerto.

That chatter while playing is really too ridiculous for words, just like running up and down the stage during a piece of music.

And the clash between Wood and Cusack is all about tearing you up.

The only positive things about the film are the music and the occasional camera work. There are beautiful shots in between, but those are really the only things that could appeal to me.

Furthermore, it is horribly laughable and this film gets a serious unsatisfactory from me.

Disappointing indeed, especially if you think about it and read the justified criticism here.

Then it could even become an insufficient. But it stays with a 5/10 because the music and the concept is nice. Unfortunately, its effect is very weak.
