The Miracle plot

The film is based on a medieval legend. The nun Megildis (Florence Winston) hears the music of a minstrel and begins to long for a life outside the monastery. She flees the monastery together with a knight (Douglas Payne) and encounters many dangers on her journey through the wild world. The Blessed Virgin Mary (Maria Carmi) feels sorry for the nun. She makes a statue with her likeness come to life and takes Megildis' place in the monastery while she's gone so nobody notices.
