Mary and Martha plot
"Two mothers lose their sons to malaria."
Mary and Martha, one American and one English, are two women who have little in common except for one terrible event: they both lost their son to malaria. Mary takes her young son, George, to Africa. She promises him adventures and lots of fun. However, he contracted malaria. Meanwhile, Martha's son, Ben, dies of this disease while working as a volunteer at an orphanage in Mozambique. Mary returns to America and begins a one-man campaign to raise awareness of the disease, while Martha volunteers to volunteer at the same orphanage where Ben worked. Both find their new lives difficult and complicated, but eventually the two women join forces and embark on an epic journey to try to make a difference in this world.
