Mark Knopfler: A Life in Songs plot

Mark Knopfler, best known as a singer and guitarist with the Dire Straits, has written more than 300 songs over the past 30 years, including hits such as 'Sultans of Swing' and 'Money for Nothing'. Knopfler talks about how his songs shaped his life and how they were influenced by his own life and origins. Featuring as yet unreleased footage from the musician's private collection, from the troubled early years in Leeds pubs in the 1970s, to the mega success of Dire Straits in the 1980s, to his current world tour as a solo artist.
