Years ago I gave this film 4 stars, but I think I mixed up Send Me No Flowers and this one, because I think this is clearly the least of the trilogy between Hudson, Day & Randall.

Still obviously worth picking up, but just not Pillow Talk, which in my opinion turned out a little better.

That does not alter the fact that this film is not entertaining, because the three big names make sure of that, but the story was still very similar to the first part and therefore perhaps a little less fresh.

Still 3 very big stars! Especially the last 20 minutes are a nice twist

Excellent film in which an advertising man and an advertising woman are chasing the same customer. After Pillow Talk, the second collaboration between Doris Day, Rock Hudson and Tony Randall (and a better one in my opinion). Although the progression is largely predictable, there are more than enough fun twists. Funny dialogues, entertaining situations and a fast pace.

What a wonderful comedy. Sounds like the sixties version of screwball comedy to me. Ambiguity abounds in this battle of sexes. Well-developed characters, good one-liners, situational humor and fun Doris Day music composed by Frank De Vol. The advertising world - in which Doris Day and Rock Hudson's characters - work is approached somewhat satirically, but it all remains innocent fun on the surface.

It is an intelligent script with a very high entertainment value. Congratulations to the writers and as far as I'm concerned there's no need to weigh this up against Pillow Talk again. Formula or not, it remains very well made.

Also funny to see how morals in society have changed compared to the time in which this film was made. E.g. the scene in which Doris Day tells Rock Hudson without blinking that washing dishes is 'a women's job'.. It is also nice to be able to admire the New York of 1961 in color. And the hats that Doris wears are also a pleasure to see.
