The Large Rope plot

Embittered ex-con Tom Penney returns to his hometown after being released. He had to serve a three-year sentence for an assault he did not commit. He immediately goes in search of the people who gave false testimony against him at the time: Amy Jordan and Jeff Stribling. But his anger cools and instead of taking revenge, he just decides to move on and live a quiet life elsewhere and work hard. However, when the flirtatious Amy is murdered, Tom is immediately the obvious prime suspect.
