Fleur de Tonnerre plot
The Brittany countryside, in the 19th century. In a poor peasant family, a little girl named Hélène Jégado grows up in isolation, unloved, battered by the hardships of life and nurtured by a sick fantasy. She is convinced that she must serve Ankou, the spirit of death in local mythology. That is why Hélène poisons her mother who eventually dies. For the rest of her life she will crisscross Brittany in search of her next victim. She finds work as a cook and spreads death her way.
