"“Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau"
More than one and a half million compatriots fish one or more times a year. Fishing is perhaps the most remarkable 'folk sport' in the world. The documentary FISHING is about the question of what moves the fisherman. Why do people fish, especially men? Who are those fishermen? Is it a sport, a hobby or a flight? Or is fishing like hunting, an ancient instinct? What happens to you when you fish? When you catch a fish? Nothing catches? And how does that fish actually experience that? Such a hook in his mouth?
