11·25 Jiketsu no Hi: Mishima Yukio to Wakamono-tachi plot
The film tells the story of the last days of the Japanese writer Yukio Mishima. On November 25, 1970, Mishima commits ritual suicide at the headquarters of the Japanese Ministry of Defense. With four associates he gains access to the building and takes the commander prisoner. He calls on the soldiers present to take over power in order to restore the emperor's power. When the soldiers mock and jeer at him, he breaks off his speech and commits 'seppuku', a ritual suicide in the manner of the samurai. This film examines the question of what Mishima wanted to make clear with his action.
