Russian Anna Pavlova embodies the brutal happiness and tragedy of today's Berlin party generation. Lost on the brink of madness and rare poetic clarity, lonely and alone wandering the streets of Berlin, she shows us a side of this world that we rarely get to see. As an anti-heroine in a civilized society, her existence is an attempt to live in an infinite state of happiness, just to prevent "the world" from starting when the party music ends.

Without her famous namesake, I would not have met Anna Pavlova. I can't say it was a pleasant introduction. A constantly drunk and strolling twenty-something year old starts to irritate after a while. There is little poetic about that. She is annoying, loud and selfish. Spits in other people's faces, doesn't keep appointments and criticizes almost everyone.

Yet, after an hour, Anna gains my sympathy when a stranger named Erkan starts harassing her on the street. Even more annoying than drunk people are these types. Fortunately, Anna quickly gets rid of this creep with her evil drink. At the end of the documentary we finally see a sober Anna Pavlova who has finally come to the realization that she wants to do something with her life. The partying and drinking has taken its toll.
