Theater of War plot

Bertolt Brecht's play "Mother Courage and Her Children" focuses on endless war and those who benefit from it. In the summer of 2006, the Manhattan Public Theater company performs the play with Meryl Streep in one of the lead roles. This documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the modern take on the provocative play. In addition to the preparations, Brecht's tumultuous life and themes such as Marxism, activism, capitalism and the importance of art are also discussed.
