"The legacy of six bereaved puppets"
Internationally renowned ventriloquist Nina Conti takes the dolls of her late mentor and lover Ken Campbell on a pilgrimage to Venthaven, the final resting place for ventriloquist dolls. She gets to know her companions made of latex and wood better along the way and in this way she also comes to her own core and that of her lost love. Even though the film is cast in the style of a mockumentary, 'Her Master's Voice' is indeed about Conti himself, the genius Ken Campbell, their relationship and the art form ventriloquism.
