Kaddisch für einen Freund plot
14-year-old Ali grew up in a Palestinian refugee camp, where he formed a negative image of the Jews from an early age. After his flight from Lebanon, he ends up in Berlin with his family. To be accepted into the Arab group of his new home city, he must first pass a test in which he shows his courage: he has to break into the apartment of his 84-year-old Jewish, Russian neighbor. However, he unexpectedly comes home earlier and he catches the boy in the act. To avoid sentencing and forced return to his homeland, Ali is forced to befriend this 'enemy'.
