"A tale of acting up, acting out, and acting your age."
Grace (Mendes) is a single mother. She's too busy with work and married Dr. Hartford (Matthew Modine) to pay attention to her daughter Ansiedad (Ramirez). When Ansiedad's English teacher introduces coming-of-age stories, she is fascinated and determined to skip adolescence and prepare for a life without a mother. With the help of a friend, she gears up for the shortcut to "adulthood." But as her misguided plan continues to unravel, Grace and Ansiedad must learn that growing up is part of accepting your age.
