The cruel Germans in a World War II POW camp have come up with something new. The beautiful but nefarious SS officer Dr. Ellen Kratsch has created a half human, half animal monster. She uses the monster to torture and abuse the female prisoners of war.

Well, it remains a genre that I can't really see the charm of. I've seen Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS before, and this is a bit of the same cloth. We see a sadistic, female Nazi commander who goes wild on all kinds of prisoners, both male and female, in all kinds of painful and often sexually tinged ways throughout the film. In addition, there is also all kinds of other war violence to be seen, with a not so special side plot with Italian partisans, but the notoriety is mainly based on the humiliating games that are played with the prisoners. Although the real gore is not too bad; the insinuations are dirtier than what is actually shown, and the fakeness of the 'tortures' is very clear. And it will come as no surprise that there is not much to experience in terms of plot either. It is not exciting, but it is not really annoyingly boring either. Furthermore, it may still look pretty good for the trash category, but it's not a genre I'm eager to seek out more of.

Italian sleaze in its purest form. A film that has long since lost its shock value, but is nevertheless particularly enjoyable because of those elements. The 'beast' in question comes into action a few times, but is never the highlight. Unless you like softcore rape. To each his own. The clumsy warfare rarely contributes anything and the (stolen) footage stands out extra hard because of the low image quality in the otherwise excellent Severin blu-ray release. A must see for Nazisploitation aficionados. Not exactly the Crème de la Crème within that subgenre, but enough hairy pussies and gruesome torture practices to quench your thirst. Oh... and Macha Magall in uniform.

A film with quite remarkable brutal scenes that certainly in its time was labeled as not really accessible and was banned in many countries. Now this still applies to certain countries, even though its power is somewhat less. But still... the viewer is confronted with a lot of torture, rape, sex, scenes that are now no longer acceptable. Very explicitly all depicted, even the male member has a number of scenes. In one particular scene, it is chopped off itself. But children or elderly people are not spared either. The created monster can also regularly indulge itself in both blood and sex. So a lot of nudity and bloody scenes pass by, but in the end, despite the brutal elaboration, the film still fails to impress me. The story is not much anyway, but is also built up very chaotically and offers no tension. The Beast and Dr. Ellen Kratsch (Macha Magal) are the only characters that stand out. The rest of the cast is negligible, maybe that's why the brutal violence doesn't really work or doesn't make too much of an impression. 5/10
