Nemye Svideteli plot

To ensure that another servant can go home with her children, Nastya agrees to take her place as a servant in the household where her grandfather also works. Soon after, the lady of the house goes on a trip, while her son Pavel stays at home. Pavel is engaged to Ellen, but she openly flirts with other men. Nastya and the other servants soon learn that Ellen is having an affair with Baron von Rehren. This puts the servants, especially the sensitive Nastya, in an awkward position.
