"Behind the walls of Badam Bagh women's prison."
A unique insight into life behind the walls of the women's prison in the capital Kabul, Afghanistan. The detained ladies live here together, often awaiting their trial. One of the residents proudly admits that she murdered her mischievous husband. However, most women are not imprisoned here for violence or theft, but for violating other strict Islamic rules. While the incarcerated ladies have frank conversations about justice, injustice and the how and why of their arrest, they have already been sentenced to exiles for the community outside the prison walls.
