"EXCITEMENT! INTRIGUE! ROMANCE!"
Lisbon, 1944. Deresco, owner of a nightclub in neutral Portugal, works as a freelance spy for anyone willing to pay him well. He tries to get information from the American agent John Craig. Deresco makes use of the immigrant dancer Maritza, but she falls in love with Craig. Craig becomes a special guest at Deresco's casino, but there one cannot be sure of everyone's true homeland, let alone their political intentions.
