The Ostroff and Walling family are best friends and neighbors who live opposite each other on Orange Drive. After a five-year absence, daughter Nina Ostroff returns home for Thanksgiving after breaking up with her fiancé Ethan again. Rather than showing interest in neighbors' successful son Toby Walling, something that would satisfy both families, she takes an interest in her parents' best friend, David Walling.
