The film tells the true story of the "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale" in the 1930s in Formosa (present-day Taiwan). The Seediq tribe, led by the warlord Mouna Rudo, takes on 300 warriors against the all-powerful Japanese army that has ten times the manpower available. With old guns, spears and minimal resources they fight for their country, their honor and dignity for two weeks.
