"It's not over until lightning strikes."
Although his generation is increasingly driven off the track, Lightning is not ready to stop racing just yet. When he is unexpectedly defeated by freshman Jackson Storm, he looks for a second chance. For this he gets the help of Cruz Ramirez, a sleek yellow race car. The young female driver introduces Lightning McQueen to modern technology and teaches him new tricks. Together they prepare for the decisive race in the Florida 500 (a competition similar to the Daytona 500).

In my opinion, Cars 3 is just as good as the 1st part and therefore more surprising to me than the 2nd part. The story is pure and the new characters are great. I understand that people are disappointed with Bliksem's farewell, but the film does address a topical subject that is simply part of life. Great find, a really good movie.

Nice. The Cars franchise cannot compete with the big franchises and animation films, but they are always very entertaining films. The animation looks excellent, the voice actors are well chosen, the racing scenes are great and the sentimental story works. The subplot around Lightning and Cruz is especially strong, and Cars 3 is also a nice story about aging, and knowing when to stop and hand over the baton to a new generation.
