Blood and Wine plot
"There is no honour amongst thieves."
Alex Gates is a true womanizer who faces significant financial difficulties. However, he has plotted the perfect crime to get rid of his money worries in one go. As a wine supplier, he has access to the very richest men and their irresistible toys. Alex manages, together with the ailing Victor, to steal millions in jewelry from Frank Reese, a very wealthy customer. However, Alex needs the help of his current mistress Gabriella, Reese's Venezuelan nanny. Meanwhile, Dina, Reese's wife, has fallen in love with Alex and is reluctant to share him with Gabriella. When Jason, Alex's stepson, also gets involved in all the love affairs and discovers what's going on, he makes his own plan. Alex's nefarious schemes seemed watertight. However, he forgot to take factors such as jealousy and lust into account; with all the bloody consequences that entails.

Tried this one and it wasn't bad, but certainly not more than that. The film starts off reasonably well, but once the job is done, the film just keeps going. The rack is soon in and does not really surprise.
Not bad, but certainly not good either. It is one that I will soon forget, despite the series of well-known headlines. So it's a pretty standard movie.

Film with a cast that is definitely worth watching. That there is no honor among thieves is certainly made clear. All the elements are there and yet it's so standard that it feels too sketchy and pretty salt-free in nature. With a little more energy it could have been something. But for what it is now, it is definitely not recommended.

Nice film in which a wine merchant plans to steal jewelry from a wealthy client of his. The whole setup of this noir-esque film is certainly good and the first half is the best. After that it all gets a bit more predictable (both in character and plot). It certainly won't get boring and the fine cast also helps with this.
