Fine.

I thought this was a good action/science fiction with good effects and a good pace. He especially likes that pace, because if this lasted longer it would have been less, 89 minutes is just right for a popcorn movie like this.

Hirsch is doing fine, nowhere very well but he is unbearable, just like the rest. Only Vernadskaya was a bit less, but oh well, that child was only around 15. Russian accents are clearly audible and that causes some woodiness here and there, but in general it was not disturbing.

Thought the effects were fine, only towards the end when the aliens come into the picture a little better. Some of the effects still looked quite realistic, like the scene where the aliens send beams to absorb raw materials. For the rest, the originality is only limited, as the movie did use some of other movies like 28 Days Later... en [url=https://www.moviemeter.nl/film/27772]War of the Worlds [ /url]

The aliens themselves were not too exciting, and the movie is nowhere very exciting and more popcorn food. In the beginning it was a bit oppressive here and there, but that's about it. I did have a good time with this though.

Rewatched and found this film for B garnish actually not so bad. Nice ideas though

with nice performance. It had a good atmosphere, but the acting leaves a lot to be desired.

Mediocre science fiction movie.

A kind of War of the Worlds copy, but with a group of young people instead of a family. It's not a bad movie, but it's not a great one either. It's basically a sci-fi disaster movie with some action. The action scenes are quite nice as well as the CGI and special effects. The acting, on the other hand, is poor and the story is also not well developed. Given the budget, $30-35 million, I think there could have been more, especially the end, but also the beginning. For the rest there is not much to say, except that you actually only see the aliens towards the end.
So not really recommended. Although it is doable for a rainy evening, for once.

2.5*
