Recently, the fact that Wesley Snipes & Patrick Swayze performed their roles nicely makes this film not special at all.

Cliche after cliché follows one another. This was a story from which a lot more could have been achieved, but instead the director chose the safe cliché route and made no use at all of the good cast he had in front of him.

Too bad, this could have been a very nice road movie, but it is quite standard and sometimes even boring.

2*

Not as good as Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (4*). A lot of it is due to the poorly cast actors. Here, three actors, known mainly for muscular and macho roles, are put in women's clothing. I especially didn't like Wesley Snipes in this role. Mind you, not because he actually does a bad job, rather because I had a hard time separating him from gangster and terrorist roles. I liked Leguizamo the most and I could genuinely laugh along with it. Another actor whose talent is underestimated. This movie proves that. And Swayze, well...

Everything was better with Priscilla, ranging from strong characters to interesting approaches. This is simply about three drag queens who drive to California and end up stranded in a small farming town after a car breakdown, where they bring some color to the boring everyday life. So not much going on. I don't know why on earth this film had to be made because after Priscilla it feels quite unnecessary. I couldn't agree with the carnivalesque ending either; it is too thick.

A decent film about three drag queens who drive from New York to Hollywood. An entertaining road movie that remains somewhat superficial. Beautiful costumes and good performances from the three leads, though they are cast atypically. Easily 3.0 stars.
