A very long time ago this Basic Instinct. A film from 1992 as they rarely make them these days, or just say no more. I think during the making of this movie, Douglas got rutted like a bull with every sex scene. Sharon Stone is without a doubt one of the greatest femme fatales in cinema history. The atmosphere is also so good that this film just looks away very quickly. The story is certainly interesting, the ending plays great with the twists and false accusations. A film that has rightly become a classic and one of the best neo-noir films I've seen. Then I only have to hand out a 4.5 * because more words are superfluous.

Basic instinct remains one of Verhoeven's best films. It is a very intriguing and mysterious thriller that could just as easily have been called “The game”. Because games are played: between Nick and Catherine, but also with the viewer who is forced to participate in the intrigue, not knowing what role Catherine plays: that of victim or that of perpetrator.
Very strong acting performance by Sharon Stone. She is also horny in this film. A real femme fatale who wraps every man around her finger. The plot where she weaves reality into her books is extremely clever and exciting. Her unfinished book in which she incorporated Nick is also well liked.
The suspense of the film is high and some scenes are memorable. I don't need to repeat which one is on top, but there are still some. Also excellent erotic moments combined with Verhoeven's craftsmanship with excellent camera handling and editing. Not much to say about this movie really. Seen it once a long time ago, but a revision does little to detract from this. Top!
