This film about the story of three friends that we follow during a road trip from A'dam to Rabat is a small-scale drama with a great atmosphere. There are moments of emotion and humor that belong to an intense time together and alternate at the right moments. Cultural differences and traditions with obvious clichés are portrayed in a light-hearted way and the boys have shaped the film well with convincing acting.

Jim Taihuttu managed to surprise me with the excellent Dutch crime film Wolf, but I still had Rabat on my shelf for a long time. Here too Taihuttu succeeds in delivering a very fine print, this time a Dutch Roadmovie, again with a thick Moroccan sauce, and yes, what can you say? Then it won't be those unbelievably lame primary school humor movies, but it's a nice variety of strong jokes and good common ground. The plot: Three friends have to drive an old Dutch taxi all the way to Rabat and experience the craziest, but also sensitive adventures, where many things come loose or become exposed, and in the meantime we are treated by a lot of beautiful pictures of the countries they visit. have to pass in order to catch the boat to Morocco in Spain. Nice to see in this issue what Kenzari did before he was allowed to start in Wolf, and soon in an American movie. And yes, that will be a very nice sequence of switching emotions and encounters with a French liftster, partying boys, a foolish bouncer, and also corrupt cops. In any case, they are go-getter.

Nice multicultural road movie.

4.5*

Nice road movie about three friends who have to drive an old taxi from Amsterdam to Rabat. The enthusiastic play of the three protagonists is very infectious and the dialogues are often very funny. A nice balance between drama and humor. A promising debut by director Jim Taihuttu, who subsequently proved to be no one-hit wonder with the excellent Wolf.
