Tiger Eyes plot
Frank Scheffer, renowned director of essayistic documentaries, has made the film Tiger Eyes especially for the 40th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Using portraits of international directors, representative of the festival's past four decades, the film takes stock of the current climate. The choice of the filmed directors was determined by former directors of the IFFR. The film is a mosaic of in-depth conversations with filmmakers about the passion for their art. A passion that often goes hand in hand with an astute view of people and society. Key scenes from their oeuvre can be seen and Frank Scheffer and cameraman Melle van Essen have also depicted the earliest sources of inspiration of the various directors. The following are portrayed: Raùl Ruiz, Jim Jarmusch, Wim Wenders, Abbas Kiarostami, Michael Haneke, Abderrahmane Sissako and Apitchatpong Weerasethakul.
