After urban couple Linda and George (Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd) buy a house in New York, George loses his job. With no other option, the couple decides to move to Georgia to move in with relatives. On their way there they spend the night in a Bed & Breakfast which turns out to be a commune.

it still remains a strange phenomenon, a film full of poop, piss and sex jokes and endless bare breasts and even the male genitals can be seen exuberantly but the protagonists show something? No, they certainly don't get paid enough for that.
Why am I bringing this up? it's kind of the reflection of the whole movie. the film always wants to go on the edge a la american pie but then always decides to stay in the mainstream and that does not benefit the film because what remains are bland, misplaced poop, piss and sex jokes like a paul rudd who hear you say dick and vagina 80x in a scene. few jokes succeed, the story goes awry and visually you seem to be watching a soap.
wanderlust is a comedy that you should not see because there are much better comedies on the market that have more to offer than this bland stuff

Mediocre film about a New York couple who accidentally end up in a hippie-like commune. A comedy that is only funny at times (flat humour). The story is short-lived and the characters are quite predictable. The cast is doing well otherwise. A small 2.5 stars.

Mediocre movie. Rudd and Aniston are a nice duo, but the whole commune thing is very poorly developed and just plain boring. That you deliver such nonsense with actors like Rudd, Aniston, Alda, Theroux and Akerman is very clever. The humor doesn't work and is sometimes painfully unfunny. The actors are really the only bright spots. What a wonderful cast!
