11-11-11. A special date for me, because that day I received my diploma and that same evening I was completely blown away by a fantastic performance by The Devil's Blood in the Vera in Groningen.
Just a case of memory. My vote has been there for a while, but apparently I haven't written anything about it. In any case, it is a film that I found quite interesting and at times quite gloomy. No, not much happens, but a horror film doesn't have to be full of (cheap) scares. Talking about this not being a horror movie always amuses me. Visually it's all okay, but the story could have been a little better. Perhaps a bit more spectacular, although the tension build-up is good enough. You have to attract the religious posturing (for me anyway), although that is also a point that should have been done more with. Then you might have had a nice Da Vinci Code meets random doomsday (and maybe also more appreciation for the film). In any case, the denouement may be there and so I think it's a shame that the rating is so low.

11-11-11 Well, what should I expect... not that much, and that was right!
A very mediocre film that could have done with a little more. The story itself isn't all that bad, and despite the reactions above, the acting didn't bother me that much either. What particularly disappointed me was the way in which the tension was built up, the annoying flashbacks and the very bad representation of the demons/midway creatures, no that brought a laughable effect, rather than that it had to be exciting . Furthermore, the role of Javier was also very dreary...
So what was good about the movie? The story could go on, maybe a bit far fetched but okay, the unexpected ending of the film, which still earns him an extra half star, and the main character that is portrayed quite well.
If you have any doubts about this film, I would say let it go, it will probably just disappoint.
2*

Typical again such a type of film .... big mouth but no ass.
If you've seen the trailer, it seems like a cool movie, but in the end you come home from a cold fair.
It doesn't promise what it seems and the acting isn't great either.
