Higher Ground plot
Corinne grew up in the 1960s, and her life is marked by her sense of inadequacy. In high school, her life threatens to derail, eventually propelling her into the arms of Ethan, a guitarist who plays in a local band. Through an incident, they join a small group of fundamentalists where they find understanding and stability. But some more conservative members of the troupe terrify Corinne, leading to a deep crisis of faith that turns her world upside down.
