Ramayana: The Epic plot

Rama, the prince of Ayodhva, is dark and handsome, a great warrior and loved by all. To get Sita as a bride, he breaks the bow of the god Shiva. King Dashrath is pleased with Rama's bride, but his wife has other plans. She wants her son Bharat to be crowned king instead of Rama. Rama must be banished, despite King Dashrath's despair. Rama disappears together with Sita and Laxman, a younger brother of Rama, into the jungle of Chitrakoot for a period of thirteen years.
