Korea, 16th century: The whole country is on the brink of collapse. As the Emperor's corrupt cabinet plays power games, an attack from Japan is imminent. The villainous swordsman Lee Mong-hak forms an alliance with like-minded people to destroy the corrupt regime and take power himself. His former comrade in arms, the blind swordsman Hwang Jung-hak (Hwang Jung-min), stands in his way. But he is supported by the young Kyun-ja, who still has a score to settle with Mong-hak. In the emperor's palace, surrounded by Japanese troops, a furious confrontation breaks out.
