The Shadow in the North plot
An old woman loses the money she has invested, a magician is chased by criminals, a clairvoyant sees a brutal murder in a forest and a glass coffin whispers the name of the richest man in Europe. These seemingly unrelated events lead Sally Lockhart on the trail of an evil more terrible than she could ever have imagined: a superweapon in the hands of the Scandinavian lunatic Axel Bellmann. Once again, Sally Lockhart investigates, but as she gets closer to the truth, it becomes clear that her life will never be the same.
