Benvenuti al Sud plot
Alberto is the manager of a post office in a small village in northwestern Italy. Under pressure from his wife Silvia, he will do anything to be transferred to Milan – going so far as to pretend to be a disabled person to move up the transfer list. But his plan fails and as punishment he is transferred to a small village in southern Campania, which is a real nightmare for someone from the north. Brimming with prejudice, Alberto sets off alone for what he considers the land of the camorra, full of dirty lazy southerners. But much to his surprise, the village turns out to be a fascinating place, with friendly colleagues, very hospitable fellow villagers and a new best friend, the postman Mattia, whom he will help to win the heart of the beautiful Maria. How does he tell all this to Silvia though? After all, his departure has revived their relationship and he is also a real hero in the eyes of his friends from the north…
