This movie was a real tearjerker. Not because he's so funny but just because he's so bad. This movie was just so horribly irritating to watch it hurt my eyes. The lame cliché story was so retarded, silly, prudish (there were plenty of opportunities to show some nudity, but it was all very blandly nullified) and childish as anything and just didn't make sense. The same also applies to the execution and humor (such as the nonsense with posing when painting). As with most films in which Martin Lawrence plays, he is not funny at all in this film. This is just retarded humor of the lowest kind and I didn't laugh once. The most laughable thing is actually the ridiculously high average for this movie here. In that respect they are much more real on IMDb because this monstrosity of a film does not deserve a high point. The terrible singing, or rather screeching, was also unbearable and not at all funny. Frankly, I'm ashamed that I watched this misery. After about 80 minutes I turned it off because it just couldn't be cured anymore.

I definitely don't share some of the other people's negative comments above.
I was never bored with this movie. I thought the story was really funny. The appearance of 'big momma' often made me laugh. The acting wasn't great, but it was funny and I think that's what a comedy is all about. I really hated that fat guard, what a great guy haha!
In terms of content, I can imagine that people will drop out, but you just have to turn the switch and enjoy the jokes. Not a high-flyer, but a film where you can laugh on a Saturday evening.
