Go for It! plot
Carmen is a good student with a bad attitude who lives to dance in Chicago's underground clubs. She craves to be "someone" but finds it hard to believe in herself. Her immigrant, working-class Mexican parents want her to stay in school and get an education. And so she's in Junior College, next to her job in a supermarket. Carmen's teacher spots her nearby at a performance one day and challenges her to audition at a formal dance school in California. She gets into an argument with her chaotic family and runs away to her best friend Gina, only to find out that Gina is being mistreated by her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Jared, Carmen's friend, wants Carmen to commit and move in with him. Torn by doubts, her dream of a dance career fades. Will Carmen overcome her fears and take the biggest chance of her life, or will she succumb to her doubts?
