You Yi Tian plot
Singing (Nikki Hsin-Ying Hsieh) lives with her mother in a waterfront store in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. In a recurring dream, she meets a man whose face she cannot make out and whose voice she cannot hear. He could be her father who suddenly disappeared during a sea voyage. Singing works on a ferry that takes Taiwanese soldiers to the remote island of Kinmen, off the coast of China. One night, when the soldiers are sleeping in their compartments, the engines stop and the lights go out.
