Not a documentary in the normal sense of the word.

Images from the Apollo missions to the moon occasionally mixed with some statements from astronauts who were there....sometimes we hear the original sound accompanying the images or Brian Eno's soundtrack.

And we also hear the music that the astronauts brought with them Also Sprach Zarathustra, Frank Sinatra (Fly Me to the Moon), Buck Owens and Merle Haggard with a song specially recorded for the occasion (Please leave this tape on the moon!!) .

Just a little less than the stricter documentary "In the Shadow of the Moon" and maybe a bit too soon (May 15th) after.

But this one was still in honor of Neil Armstrong and the Apollo images remain fascinating to see.

This is a compilation of the various Apollo missions put together 20 years after the first moon landing. Several simultaneous flights to the moon plus images from the moon are shown and supported by commentary from Houston and the astronauts themselves. It is not really clear and various abbreviations are reviewed that you as a layman do not understand much of. Still, this is interesting to see because it mainly shows the adventurous side of astronaut work. Several times you will hear from the astronauts how beautiful and brilliant this or that is. It's like they're on vacation! And yes, For All Mankind is indeed full of spectacular and beautiful images of the moon and earth.

Beautiful documentary, with razor-sharp footage of the launch(s), journeys, moon landings and moonwalks of the Apollo astronauts. Nicely composed of images from the various Apollo missions, including the more famous (Apollo 11 and 13) and lesser known missions after it.

Very impressive to see and also surprising to see how the astronauts besides their mission also took the time to just have fun during their moon walks. Gives a very different view of the missions than I initially had.

4*
