Mount Corporal Tom Merritt, Jr. has discovered that a substance called 'Compound X' helps against paralysis. Tom retrieves the Compound X from a mine in Caribou, Canada. Nazi spies discover that this Compound X also has magnetic properties that allow it to be used effectively against mines from the British fleet. The Germans send their special agent John Kettler to Canada. Kettler goes undercover to ensure that Compound X comes into German hands and establishes a "sanatorium" to cover it up. Mountie Major Ross King is killed in a shootout with Kettler's henchmen and his son, Mounties Sergeant Dave King, investigates.
