The 1975 Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn is a working-class, poor-family neighborhood with a social code that discourages any aspirations to leave the neighborhood. The two brothers Danny and Brian dare to dream about a life elsewhere. But their reasons for leaving and the way they do it are diametrically opposed, which will destroy their entire family and possibly each other.
