"They Were Britian's Commando Elite"
The second World War. When Corporal Rains covers the captain of the military police to bring his men home after a long battle in a torn France, he is considered a hero. Once back in Dover, however, he is arrested. Then he gets his shot at glory when the Marine Jack Jones sees his potential and wants him as a commando on a secret mission. Rains accepts Jones' mission and is pardoned. Their mission is to infiltrate a Nazi base in Norway and steal the latest radar technology from under the enemy's nose.

A war film in which there is not really much fighting. And no, this is not such a war drama, but just the type of film in which you can expect a lot of bullets and explosions. And what it does contain is quite disappointing, and yes the ending...

Long live wikipedia where you can simply find a list of all command actions, with place, date and target. I couldn't find this one. That a commando action took place in Norway where a few were able to escape to Sweden, has really happened. Just not with a radar post as a target. What is striking is how many people were killed in commando actions. These commandos must have been a special kind of people. True death contempt. Germans were portrayed as real bad dudes in this film. Food for Brexiteers. I found it quite exciting.
