A Very Serious Person plot
Jan, an itinerant nurse from Denmark, takes a new job with the terminally ill Mrs. A. She lives in Manhattan and raises her thirteen-year-old grandson Gill on her own. After the death of his grandmother, the reserved man takes the boy to his cousins in Florida for the summer. A deep friendship grows between the two independent people. By the end of the summer, Gil has grown more mature and independent, while the enigmatic Jan has discovered his vulnerability.

A clichéd story with a reasonable cast. This alternates with some light-hearted fragments. Charles Busch was the standout for me, who was also responsible for directing. The basic idea for the film is good, and the execution is reasonable.
