"Addicted to one-night stands or dependent on one another?"

His qualities also come in handy in the fierce competition in the sale of pharmaceuticals. Maggie and Jamie's budding and unconventional relationship takes them both by surprise as their carefree relationship becomes increasingly important to both of them. Not a fan of Hathaway at all, but in this movie I didn't even find her that unattractive.

It's not a thigh-banger, nor does it go deep enough to be a real drama. So just a little too little of both worlds. Nice concept with the whole world of medicine and all that. Hope that in real life people don't go as far to win over a doctor as in this film, but to keep everything a bit watchable it is of course still manageable.

Sometimes there is chemistry between Maggie and Jamie and then suddenly it is completely gone. Hathaway has to portray an annoying person and I think that comes close to her true personality, so she won't have to empathize like that. Gyllenhaal makes sure that I can still give it a pass, because he did a nice job of portraying his role as a so-called bastard who knows how to get any hot girl between the sheets.

I thought the combination of the light-hearted and the heavy message worked very well in this film, even though I'm not a fan of Hathaway, she still puts down a believable character here in which you struggle not to be a block to someone's leg. handicap, but on the other hand still want to be loved can see well.

probably partly because I didn't expect anything from this film and it surprised me positively I give it 3.5*

“I'm gonna need you more than you need me.”

“That's okay.”

Love and Other Drugs is a film that starts out interesting and original, but as the film progresses it starts to feel more and more like an old-fashioned rom-com. Not a big deal but I secretly expected a bit more after the good start.

The film has a wonderful duo with Gyllenhaal and Hathaway who are well attuned to each other. Hathaway plays a woman with Parkinson's disease, and that hangs like a dark cloud over every relationship she wants to enter into. But then she runs into flierefluiter Gyllenhaal and well, you can guess the rest. The film can actually cut you in half with the first part that is still light, full of humor and sharp dialogues. In the second part, the inevitable drama kicks in and it becomes a standard rom-com. Fortunately, Gyllenhaal and Hathaway keep it interesting.
